The State's taxation system is a tangled web of confiscation. Every dollar you earn is taxed over and over and over again.
When you work, your income is taxed as if the State owns a portion of your labor and is entitled to its cut.
When you spend your money, the State taxes the sale as if it owns a portion of the merchandise and is entitled to it's cut.
When you file your income tax, the State taxes your personal property as if it owns it and is entitled to rent.
When you buy property, the State taxes it every year as if it owns the land and is entitled to rent.
When you buy a car, the State taxes you every year as if it owns the car and rents it back to you.
Can you see the pattern? The State has effectively claimed an ownership stake in every piece of property, every business, every transaction and normal activity of daily life. They even tax the food you eat! This system has the real effect of abolishing private property and subjects everything in your life to confiscation or seizure if you don't pay rent to the State. abolishing the current system of taxation and replacing it with a per capita tax will not only adequately fund our moral and proper functions of government, it will pull back the veil on the real cost of those functions. It will give every resident of the State an equal stake in that cost and therefore an equal concern in those functions. The cost can never be concealed or obfuscated with clever or confusing accounting and would return millions of dollars in tax compliance expenses to the people who earned that money in the first place.
